MAKE SURE YOU’RE DOING THIS DURING PLAYTIME!!

This is one thing that I totally admit I learned from experience. I am pajama mom through and through, my daughter basically lives in her sleepers 😂.

Now that she can sit up and her next milestone is learning to crawl. I’ve been trying to get her to work on it a little more and she was trying so hard push up with her feet and knees and just kept slipping so I realized quickly that I definitely needed to start doing playtime with her legs bare!

It’s hard to determine when my daughter should be hitting certain milestones because she was two months premature, but from what I’ve seen so far she seems to be developmentally somewhere in the middle between her gestational age and her actual age. I do sometimes worry that I’ve been stunting her progress with crawling because I’ve had her in sleepers so much! Hopefully that’s not the case, but definitely learn from my mistake there if you can 😊

Outfits that allow freedom of movement are essential, as they enable toddlers to push up using their feet and knees. Slippery fabrics can hinder crawling progress, so opt for materials that let them grip the floor well. It's vital to create a play environment that supports their developmental milestones. Premature infants often develop at a different pace, and they may need tailored support during playtime. Ensuring that your baby's legs are free during play can significantly foster their confidence to explore movements. Engaging in activities that encourage strength in their legs can prepare them for crawling. Furthermore, be aware that playing in various positions—tummy time, sitting, and reaching for toys—are invaluable in enhancing motor skills and coordination. By creating a nurturing and open environment, you empower your child to reach their milestones with ease. Every child's journey is unique, so stay attentive to your baby's needs and celebrate each achievement, no matter the pace.
