Being A professional cleaner can be so GHETTO!!
Okayyyyy y’all.
Let me tell you about this cat.
Because this wasn’t a cat.
This was a villain with whiskers.
So boom. I’m at my client’s house. Beautiful property. Acres on acres. Chickens, horses, cows, pig pen — it’s giving country luxury meets Pinterest board.
And they have this cat.
Now normally?
I don’t do litter boxes.
Respectfully.
That’s between you, your pet, and the Lord.
But I was feeling generous. I said, “You know what? I’m already in here deep cleaning. Let me be nice.”
Mistake number one.
So I’m scooping the litter box, being all professional, holding my breath, trying not to judge life choices.
And this cat…
Is watching me.
Not blinking.
Just sitting there like:
👀
I’m like, “Okay… you’re welcome.”
So I finish cleaning it. Fresh litter. Perfect. Fluffed. Five-star hotel vibes.
And what does this fluffy demon do?
She sashays over.
Sits down.
Looks at me.
POOPS.
Right. In. Front. Of. Me.
Maintains eye contact.
Then gets up…
Walks past me.
And pauses to look back.
Like:
“Now scoop it again.”
Y’ALL.
The audacity.
I said oh no. We not about to do this psychological warfare thing today.
But wait.
It gets worse.
So I’m cleaning the trash can near the back door. I open it for literally three seconds.
This indoor-only princess sees daylight and decides:
“Adventure time.”
She bolts.
Not jogs.
Not tiptoes.
BOLTS.
And I’m standing there holding a trash bag like:
“No no no no no no no.”
Now remember — this house is on ACRES.
We not talking about a backyard.
We talking about:
Chickens. Horses. Cows. A pig pen. Open land.
This cat runs like she’s been training for this moment her whole life.
Through the chicken coop.
Past the horses.
Skirts the cow pasture.
And I’m running behind her like a confused farmhand.
I’m yelling:
“Ma’am! MA’AM! Your lifestyle does not require this!”
She takes me on a full National Geographic episode.
At one point I lose her.
Completely.
I’m standing in a field questioning my career choices.
And let me tell you something — this cat is SPOILED.
When I say spoiled?
This cat has her OWN ROOM.
Custom bed.
Little cat furniture.
Probably a better mattress than me.
I’m looking around like:
“Adopt me instead. I’ll meow. I’ll behave. I clean.”
Meanwhile I’m sweating, stressed, and rehearsing how I’m going to tell my client:
“So… funny story…”
I felt defeated.
Anxiety through the roof.
Because cleaning and panic do not mix.
I finally walk back toward the house, defeated, humbled, slightly traumatized.
And guess who’s sitting on the porch?
The cat.
Calm.
Composed.
Waiting.
Like she never left.
I open the door and she struts inside like:
“You better have had that open.”
Switching her tail like she owns the mortgage.
I stood there in disbelief.
I had just run a cross-country marathon for a creature that planned the whole thing.
Moral of the story?
PLEASE.
If your cleaner is coming…
Put your pets up.
Because anxiety and cleaning do not mix.
We already trying to get baseboards, bathrooms, trash, floors, details right.
We do not need:
• Psychological litter box intimidation
• Farm chases
• Or surprise escape missions
We love your pets.
But we are not cast members of “Homeward Bound.”
Let us clean in peace.
Sincerely,
A tired but still professional
