🌸Heyyy all🌸

There's this phrase that's really been resonating with me: "Please don't ever trade your authenticity for approval." It sounds so simple, right? Yet, it’s one of the hardest things to actually live by. We're so quick to try and fit in, to make "people like somebody," even if it means dimming our own light or pretending to be someone we're not. I’ve been there, trust me. There were times I’d twist myself into knots, trying to anticipate what others wanted from me, just so I wouldn't have to face the discomfort of someone potentially disliking me. It's exhausting, isn't it? That constant performance, the fear of not being enough, or worse, being too much. The truth is, when you "trade authenticity" for that fleeting sense of acceptance, you end up losing a piece of yourself. You become a version of you that isn't truly you, and that can lead to a lot of internal conflict and unhappiness. The irony is, the very people whose approval we seek often aren't truly connecting with *us*, but with the curated version we present. And when "people dislike you" for being who you are, it hurts, yes, but it also frees you. It means those connections weren't meant for your authentic self anyway. Over time, I've learned that "authenticity matters" more than anything. It’s the foundation of real self-love and genuine connections. It's about being okay with who you are, flaws and all, and trusting that the right people will gravitate towards the real you. It's about understanding that not everyone will like you, and that's perfectly "okay." Those "reasons" why someone might not vibe with you are often more about them than they are about your inherent worth. So, if you're feeling that pressure, if you're constantly seeking approval, I encourage you to take a moment and reflect. What parts of yourself are you holding back? What would it feel like to fully embrace your unique spirit? It's a journey, not a destination, and there will be moments of doubt. But I promise you, the freedom and peace that come from truly owning who you are are incomparable. Let your true self shine, and let people dislike you if they must. Your peace is worth more than their approval. Period.
