🌸Heyy yall🌸
In my personal experience, I've learned that relationships—whether friendships, family ties, or romantic connections—work best when both people contribute equally. I used to find myself constantly checking in and putting in effort, only to realize I was often the only one doing so. That imbalance led me to feel drained and unappreciated. What really shifted my perspective was embracing the mindset that "phone works both ways." It means communication is a two-way street, and if someone genuinely cares, they will make an effort to reach out, just as much as I do. Waiting around or overextending myself for someone who isn't reciprocating just leads to frustration and self-neglect. Setting boundaries was challenging, but it empowered me to value my time and energy more. I stopped pouring love and care into relationships where it wasn’t returned genuinely. Instead, I focused on connections that felt natural and balanced, where both sides wanted to stay engaged and present. This approach has allowed me to cultivate healthier relationships and protect my emotional well-being. It also reminded me that self-respect is key. When we prioritize ourselves and expect mutual respect, we invite more authentic connections into our lives. So if you find yourself overdoing it in your relationships, remember it's okay to step back and expect the phone to work both ways. Mutual check-ins and genuine effort keep relationships strong and meaningful.
