💋NEW GISOU SHADE💋
DO THEY LOOK THE SAME?!?!?!
#giftedcollabs by Gisou
To me they honestly look the same… just one with shimmer and one without.
Even when applying the new shade “Cherry on the Cake” (Available on the website Oct 4th) the shimmer to me disappears and looks exactly like “Strawberry Sorbet”
So the only difference I can honestly say is that one smells like cherries and the other strawberries.

It's so real when you get your hands on a new beauty product, especially a limited edition like the 'Cherry on the cake' Gisou lip oil, and instantly wonder, 'Is this really different from what I already love?' I totally get that! It's like when everyone raves about a new shade, and you're there comparing it to your long-time favorite 'Strawberry Sorbet,' trying to justify the purchase. Speaking of beloved shades, let's chat about another one that often sparks curiosity: Gisou's Raspberry Swirl. While your article focuses on the 'Cherry on the cake' versus 'Strawberry Sorbet' debate, many of us are also wondering about other gems in the Gisou collection. Raspberry Swirl, for example, is adored for its delicate pink tint with a hint of shimmer that's often more noticeable than what you might find in some of the lighter shades. It gives such a natural, healthy flush to the lips, making it a perfect 'my lips but better' option. The scent, as expected, is a lovely, subtle raspberry, which is refreshing and not overpowering. The thing with Gisou lip oils, and honestly, with many high-end lip products, is that the differences can be incredibly subtle. Sometimes it's the undertone – is it more cool-toned pink or a warmer peach? Other times, it's the shimmer particle size or density. You might think 'Cherry on the cake' looks exactly like 'Strawberry Sorbet' on the lips, but maybe in different lighting, or after a few minutes of wear, those tiny differences become more apparent. I've found that letting a lip oil settle for a bit can sometimes reveal its true character, especially with shimmer that can 'melt' into the formula. For those of us trying to decide if a new Gisou shade is a must-have, especially when it's a 'limited edition,' here are a few things I always consider. First, swatch it not just on your hand, but on your actual lips. Our lip tone can drastically change how a shade appears. Second, think about the scent. Is it something you'll genuinely enjoy wearing? Lastly, and this is key, consider the vibe each shade gives. Does 'Cherry on the cake' offer a slightly warmer, more autumnal feel compared to the brighter, summery 'Strawberry Sorbet'? Even if the color payoff is minimal, the overall effect and how it makes you feel can be the real differentiator. Don't forget that sometimes, a new scent is all you need to brighten up your makeup routine! I always try to look for those unique aspects that make each Gisou lip oil special, rather than just focusing on the visible tint. After all, the joy of a new beauty product often comes from the experience itself, not just the dramatic color change!
