What’s in our diaper bag?
You’d think when you have a toddler, your diaper bag days are over. NOPE! You just replace burp cloths with their favorite stuffy they won’t leave the house without and bottles with their yeti cup of beverage. 🥲 Here’s what we carry in ours!
1. Entertainment: a busy book we bought from Amazon and a doodle tablet! It’s basically an etch-a-sketch (for the older millennials, iykyk.) he can sit in his car seat and entertain himself on car rides while working on fine motor skills! 😊 the busy book has a lot of cool things including (not pictured) Velcro alphabets, numbers, and puzzles!
2. Hygiene basics: we’re in the midst of potty training so we gotta be PREPARED, okay! I keep the changing pad just in case he wants to wear a diaper for a day and unfortunately, I have not mastered the art of changing my kid while standing. 😂 Back up pull ups, wipes in case no tissue, and clothes in case of an accident!
3. SNACKS: what REALLY gets us through. We are a conscious family so these snacks are dye free and overall as healthy as we can find/afford! We get the freeze dried strawberries from target and I promise, these hardly last once I break these out around ANY child. my son has a nut allergy so we tried Made Good, as it is a nut free granola bar, and it’s been a staple ever since. The graham crackers were originally mine but is anything ever really yours when you have a toddler?
4. TOYS: when we’re out to eat or at my husband’s basketball games and he’s getting restless, we break out the small toys! We have cars, trucks, figurines, and stickers. I try to rotate these with other toys we have at home so he doesn’t get bored. A few tabletops and bleachers have been adorned with his lovely stickers. 🥲
5. BOOKS: our son loves to read! He’s the type to have you read a book 5x back to back 🥲 so we try to bring books we know he loves to hear for long waits at the dentist or while out to eat! Easy hack! 😮💨
6. My lovely, headstrong son in the middle of a tantrum because how DARE I have his favorite things out and not allow him to touch them!?
7. (Not shown) BLANKET: the blanket is multi-use. Taking a nap? Blanket. It’s cold outside? Blanket. Need entertainment? Get dragged in a what? BLANKET. Peek-a-boo with what? BLANKET. Need something snuggle? BLANKET!!!
