Overthinking and Trust
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” - Philippians 4:6
Overthinking is often disguised as preparation.
We convince ourselves that if we analyze every detail and prepare for every outcome, we can avoid disappointment. But many times, overthinking is simply fear searching for certainty. We want control because we struggle to trust God completely. Yet Scripture tells us, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6).
The truth is we cannot carry tomorrow. Our minds were never meant to replace God. That’s why Jesus came. He took on flesh (John 1:14), lived the life of perfect trust we could never live, died for our sins while we were powerless (Romans 5:6), and rose again so that we could have peace with God.
Your peace will never come from having all the answers. It comes from abiding in Jesus Christ who already is the answer.
God bless.
