... Read moreOkay, so let's talk about the LA Kings game! When I decided on a solo trip to LA, catching a sports game wasn't even on my radar. But a friend mentioned it, and on a whim, I grabbed a ticket. I ended up in this amazing stadium box – felt so fancy, especially for a first-timer! From my spot, I had a perfect view of the rink, watching the players fly across the ice. Honestly, I went in knowing almost nothing about hockey, but the energy in the arena was infectious. The speed, the skill, the intense moments – it was absolutely captivating. I found myself cheering along, even though I barely knew the rules! It’s incredible how quickly you can get swept up in the excitement. If you're ever in LA and looking for something unexpected, seriously consider a Kings game. It's an experience, even if you're a total newbie like I was! For anyone thinking about going to their first hockey game, here are a few tips I picked up! First, don't worry if you don't know the rules. Just soak in the atmosphere. The crowd's energy will guide you. Second, dress comfortably but be ready for it to be a bit chilly inside the arena, even in sunny LA. I was glad I had a light jacket with me (though my white tank top kept me cool before the game started!). Third, grab some classic arena food – it's part of the fun! And finally, just be open to the unexpected. That’s how I, a total blonde outsider, became completely hooked. Who knew I’d leave LA as a potential hockey fan? Beyond the ice, my LA adventure was full of other little gems. You know that 'neutral airport fit' I mentioned? It's all about comfort for those long travel days. I swear by my beige sweatpants and a comfy brown hoodie – perfect for looking put-together yet feeling like you're still in pajamas. A good pair of sneakers is a must, especially when you're navigating airport terminals or exploring flea markets. Speaking of flea markets, I stumbled upon a truly adorable one where I spotted these incredible chocolate-dipped orange slices in white paper cups. Seriously, they looked like works of art! I was so bummed no one was there to sell them, but it just goes to show the unique finds you can discover when you're just wandering. My white tote bag was also a lifesaver for all my little purchases and essentials. Solo travel really lets you discover places and yourself in new ways. From unexpected sports thrills to charming market finds, LA definitely delivered!
