So, I wanted to share a bit more detail on why eggs are a fantastic breakfast staple and how to truly elevate that cottage cheese side! First off, let's talk about calories for eggs. A common question I get is about '2 eggs calories.' Generally, two large cooked eggs (like scrambled or boiled) contain around 140-160 calories. This can vary slightly based on size and cooking method. For instance, frying them in a lot of oil will naturally add more calories than just a simple boil. I love that eggs are such a powerhouse of protein, keeping me full and energized, so even if I'm watching my calorie intake, they're always my go-to. It's not just about the numbers; it's about the nutrient density! They're packed with vitamins and minerals, making them a truly 'healthy breakfast' option. Now, onto one of my absolute favorite pairings: 'cottage cheese with bacon bits.' If you haven't tried this, you're missing out! It's such a simple yet incredibly satisfying combination that perfectly balances creamy, salty, and savory flavors. I often whip up a bowl with plain cottage cheese (I usually opt for 2% fat, but full-fat is delicious for a treat!) and sprinkle a generous amount of crispy bacon bits on top. What really makes it pop for me is adding a dash of hot sauce, a sprinkle of fresh chives, or even some of that amazing Everything Bagel seasoning – just like I do with my boiled eggs! The texture contrast between the soft cottage cheese and crunchy bacon is just divine. Beyond just eating it as a side, I find this duo super versatile. Remember my breakfast bowls? Sometimes I'll layer cottage cheese and bacon bits under scrambled eggs and a few roasted potatoes for an extra protein boost.
