How to Make Garlic Bread at Home

You make make garlic bread with stale bread at home!! I used to make this in college with the bare essential ingredients. Everything I use in this video (minus the bread) can be found at Walmart - the cheapest grocery store in my area.

Ingredients:

• Bread

• Butter

• Garlic

• Optional additional seasonings (pepper, Italian blend, red pepper + olive oil)

• shredded cheese

Directions:

1. Mix together butter, garlic, and additional seasonings until smooth.

2. Grease an aluminum sheet. Coat bread in the mixture and set on sheet.

3. Cover bread in cheese (I used Great Value’s parm/mix mix).

4. Wrap the tinfoil loosely around the bread, leaving a small opening at the top so the heat can roast the cheese.

5. Air fry at 375° for approximately 10 minutes or until the cheese has slightly browned on top (time may vary based on air fryer).

Baking in the oven works too :)

You could then bake this into a loaf in your regular oven, or even divide it into smaller rolls for individual garlic bread portions. The beauty of this is that you control all the ingredients, ensuring a fresh, preservative-free bread that's just begging to be turned into a garlicky delight. Alternatively, if you're not up for baking a whole loaf from scratch, or if your bread maker has a 'bake' cycle that you want to utilize for the garlic bread itself, that's a bit trickier for toasting already sliced bread. Bread makers are typically designed for baking a full loaf from dough. However, you can certainly use the 'bake' cycle to make a fresh loaf, slice it, and then proceed with my air fryer or oven method. The key is that fresh bread makes for incredible garlic bread! Now, let's talk about that garlic butter mixture. Whether you've just pulled a fresh loaf from your bread maker or you're using a budget-friendly store-bought baguette (or even stale bread, like I mentioned!), the magic is in the spread. I always start with softened BUTTER. Don't skimp here; it's the foundation of flavor. Then, generously add minced GARLIC. Fresh garlic is always best, but a good quality jarred minced garlic works in a pinch for convenience. For extra pizzazz, I love incorporating some of those OPTIONAL seasonings we talked about. A sprinkle of ITALIAN SEASONING really elevates the taste, giving it that classic Italian restaurant vibe. For a little kick, a dash of RED PEPPER FLAKES is fantastic, especially if you like a bit of heat. And, of course, freshly cracked BLACK PEPPER is a must for layering flavors.
