Controversial Wedding Rules

Okay so I disagree with some of the rules this couple had for their wedding, I think the bride is very strict and uptight, I get that it’s your wedding day and you want everything to run seamlessly and perfectly but some of these rules are a bit far fetched in my opinion.

But I was inspired to make my own wedding rules after seeing this post ⬇️

1. No kids at the reception, I love kids and babies but if I can avoid having them at the reception then I plan on doing so because I know kids can be a hassle and I want everyone to have fun and not have to worry about babysitting

2. No wearing white, this should be considered common sense but I’ve seen wedding guests wear dresses similar to the bride and that’s just disrespectful in my opinion

3. No super long toast speeches, this one shouldn’t really need an explanation but I don’t think any speeches should take more than 5-10 minutes at the most

4. Do NOT get drunk, there will be drinks of course but please drink responsibly it’s not respectful or fair to the other guests and wedding party if you’re getting drunk and acting a fool at my wedding

Those are what I came up with so far, let me know what you guys think or what rules you’ve made for yourself or plan to use in the future

... Read moreWhen planning a wedding, there are often unwritten rules that dictate guest behavior and attire. Couples are increasingly redefining these norms to ensure their special day aligns with personal values. Popular controversial rules include banning children from the reception, which many couples believe preserves the celebratory atmosphere. This can help guests relax without distractions and create a more intimate environment. Additionally, the expectation that attendees avoid wearing white extends beyond mere tradition; it symbolizes respect for the bride’s special day. Another rule gaining traction is limiting the length of toast speeches. This not only keeps the event flowing smoothly but also maintains audience engagement. Finally, advising guests to drink responsibly reinforces a respectful atmosphere and preserves memorable moments rather than regrettable ones. Ultimately, establishing these rules emerges from a desire to prioritize the couple's wishes while fostering an enjoyable experience for everyone. Couples can draw inspiration from various online discussions, where others share similar experiences and rules that worked for them, as seen in hashtags like #weddingdayadvice and #weddingideas. By doing so, they create a tailored celebration that embodies their vision and values while navigating the complexities of guest expectations.

maybe it’s just me but i don’t disagree with any of these😭. at the end of the day it’s about the bride and the groom and that’s it. these just simply focus on that and i don’t see the problem with that! #letschat
