how mental health issues really looks….

mental health issues are never linear. as individuals we are constantly evolving and healing! just because someone might look okay on the surface, does not mean they aren’t struggling deep down! it’s so important to be mindful and open hearted even when someone seems “okay”. it is normal to have mental health issues and go out with friends, put extra effort into yourself, seem happy, etc. it is also normal to have mental health issues and self isolate, bed rot, lower your self effort, etc! this is a reminder that no matter what stage you are in right now, things will get better, and you are never alone on your journey❤️

... Read moreMental health issues are indeed complex and can manifest in various ways, sometimes even contradicting each other. For instance, smiling and putting effort into one's appearance can coexist with feelings of being overwhelmed, tired, or disengaged. An individual might appear sociable and engaging in social settings while inwardly battling fatigue and needing to isolate themselves. It’s vital to remember that mental health doesn’t follow a set path; people can be at different stages of their healing journey simultaneously. For example, someone might experience ‘bed rotting’—a term that signifies a state of inactivity and withdrawal—while also managing to maintain a facade of normalcy in public. This underscores the importance of understanding and accepting that it's perfectly okay to have struggles and still participate in life in various capacities. Engaging with mental health content that resonates with one’s own experiences can be therapeutic. Platforms like Lemon8 provide a community for sharing and discussing these issues, making it easier for individuals to feel supported and less isolated. Conversations about mental health foster empathy, allowing individuals to embrace their vulnerabilities and share their journeys with others. By spreading awareness about mental health complexities, we can collectively encourage a more compassionate approach towards ourselves and others.
