Foods I DON’T feed my kid and why
Hot Take: I Don’t Let My Kid Eat These Foods (Most of the Time 👀)
Ok, hear me out- this doesn’t mean never, it just means I try to limit these things because I personally think they’re not great for little bodies (or adult bodies too lol):
🚫 Chemical dyes – linked to hyperactivity + just unnecessary.
🚫 Seed oils – highly processed + inflammatory.
🚫 Excess sugar – especially in snacks marketed to kids.
🚫 Artificial sweeteners – I’d rather give real sugar than chemicals.
🚫 Ultra-processed foods – the less ingredients I can’t pronounce, the better.
That said, my child does get these things sometimes! Birthday parties? Special events? Holidays? Just craving a special treat? Yep, we eat the cake, the chips, the neon blue popsicle. Because balance matters too. I just want her everyday norm to be foods that fuel her best!🩷

Seed oils are not bad for you. No oil is “good” for you. But canola oil has a ton of healthy heart benefits. Maybe research beyond TikTok influencers.
