5 FREE kid outings for cold days

Here are 5 FREE things to do with your kids this winter when it’s absolutely freezing outside and you still need to get out of the house ❄️

1. Library events – They have way more than just books. Ours does weekly crafts, storytime, puppet shows, Lego clubs, even random magic shows! It’s warm, calm, and completely free.

2. Drive-thru light shows – This one is fun for the whole family and it feels festive without getting out in the cold.

3. Free museum days – A lot of children’s, art, and science museums have one free day a month. It’s such an easy indoor activity and honestly feels like a “big outing” without spending a dollar!

4. Pet store field trip – Fish tanks, birds, bunnies, hamsters… toddlers act like it’s a full-on zoo. It entertains them forever and you don’t have to buy anything.

5. Firehouse tour – A lot of fire stations will let you stop by for a tour if you call ahead!Kids get to see the trucks, meet firefighters, and sometimes even sit in the driver seat. Completely free and SO memorable.
