Why I’m good with animals
A couple weeks ago I was pet sitting for a week while my aunt was on vacation. She has a dog and four cats. Three of the cats are outdoor cats, two of which are stray and one is feral. Within 24 hours, I was able to pet the other two cats that I had never really seen let alone touch(two in the picture). The black one I got first while the dog was barking and I couldn’t sleep. All the cats were in the living room and I reached my hand out so he could come to me and decide if he trusted me. I pet him a few minutes later and all he wanted was attention and some good scratches. The next night, the white and gray cat was crying constantly. I went to the living room and all the pets were there. I did the same with this cat that I did with the other and he also loved the scratches and affection. Now I am able to see all the cats when I visit and I have so much fun spending time with them.
Pet-sitting offers a unique opportunity to connect with different types of animals, which can enhance our understanding of their behaviors and needs. It’s essential to approach pets gently, especially those who may be apprehensive due to past experiences.
