免疫介在性溶血性貧血（IMHA）は、犬の自己免疫疾患の一つで、赤血球が自己の免疫系により破壊されることで起こります。私も愛犬の闘病生活を通して、この難病の恐ろしさと向き合っています。症状としては急激な貧血状態が進行し、元気がなくなり食欲も減退することがあります。私の場合、年に数回の発作があり、特にひどい時は輸血が欠かせませんでした。 輸血治療は緊急度が高く、対応可能な動物病院が限られているため、夜間でも迅速に受け入れてくれる病院探しが大変でした。しかし、獣医師との綿密な相談と根気強い通院が回復の鍵となりました。加えて、発病直後には心肺停止にもなったため、命の危険を目の当たりにし、精神的にも大きな負担を感じました。 また、療養中のストレス軽減のために、天候の良い日はゆっくりと公園を散歩することが気分転換になりました。外の新鮮な空気と自然の中での時間は、愛犬にとっても私にとっても癒しの時間でした。これからも予断を許さない状況が続きますが、一緒に乗り越えていく強い気持ちが大切だと実感しています。 IMHAは完治が難しい病気ですが、適切な治療と日々のケアで生活の質を維持することは可能です。同じ症状に悩むペットオーナーの方々へ、私の経験が少しでも参考になれば幸いです。愛犬と過ごす毎日を大切にしながら、これからも根気強く治療を続けていきたいと思います。
