Junk in the Trunk

Stepping into 'Junk in the Trunk' is always an adventure, like walking into a treasure chest overflowing with history and charm! Every corner of the aisles is packed with shelves brimming with unique vintage items, from delicate dishes and sparkling glassware to all sorts of quirky decorative objects. It’s the kind of place where you could easily spend hours just browsing, and I almost always walk out with something special. On my last visit, I was particularly drawn to their incredible collection of animal-themed decor. I spotted this adorable silver swan-shaped pincushion, sitting elegantly in a glass case. It even had a little label for 'Bloomfield Industries, Inc.' – always cool to find a piece with a bit of history! Nearby, there were these two other stunning silver swan decorative items, perfectly perched on a white crocheted doily, surrounded by clear glass bowls and cups. They just screamed vintage glamour. But the swans weren't the only feathered friends I found! There was a whole collection of ceramic bird-themed items, including these charming cream and blue swan planters, a cute blue bird figurine, and even a vibrant yellow dragonfly decoration. My friend, who was with me, totally fell for these two brass bird figurines – one standing tall, one bending gracefully. She said they were 'kinda spendy,' but totally worth it for their unique look. And you can't forget the grand white ceramic goose figurine with its bright orange beak and feet, sitting proudly on a wooden stool! Beyond the birds, I also saw shelves dedicated to ceramic dog figurines, with an impressive dark brown basset hound taking center stage. It’s amazing what personalities these little figures have! And for something truly unique, there was a bronze-colored metal dish shaped like a cat’s face, resting on a white perforated shelf. It had a partial price tag, reminding me that every find has its own story and value. The store isn't just about figurines, though. They had a fantastic white, multi-tiered rotating display stand showcasing numerous pairs of colorful beaded earrings. Talk about a rainbow of choices! It's these unexpected discoveries that make thrifting at 'Junk in the Trunk' so much fun. Every visit feels like a scavenger hunt, and I love capturing photos of my 'favorite finds' to remember the unique details. It’s not just about buying, it’s about appreciating the craftsmanship and history behind each piece.
