... Read moreHey fellow pet parents! I just had to share about my latest trip to PetSmart. You know how it is – you go in for one thing and end up browsing everything, always on the lookout for that perfect new treat or toy for your furbaby. My mission this time was to scout out some new cat toys, and let me tell you, PetSmart did not disappoint! I always make a beeline for the cat toy aisle, and it's a jungle out there (in the best way!). I love seeing the variety. From classic crinkle balls and feathery wands to more interactive puzzle feeders, there's literally something for every kitty personality. This trip, I noticed a really cute Stitch-themed collection. While I didn't see specific Stitch cat toys (more apparel and a pet playpen), it got me thinking about how fun it is when they have character-themed items. Imagine a little Stitch plushie for your cat to bat around! Speaking of plushies, my cats are obsessed with anything they can carry around in their mouths. I picked up a few small, soft toys filled with catnip – always a winner! For my more energetic cat, I snagged a new laser pointer (supervised play only, of course!) and a couple of those springy toys that bounce unpredictably. They provide endless entertainment and really help them burn off some energy. One thing I always recommend checking out is the interactive toy section. These are great for when you're busy but still want your cat to have some mental stimulation. Think automatic spinning toys or treat-dispensing balls. They can keep a curious kitty engaged for ages. I've found that rotating toys helps keep them interested, so I often grab a few different types to switch out every week or so. I also took a peek at some of the bigger items, like the pet playpens. While my indoor cats don't use one, I can totally see how useful they'd be for small kittens or even small pets like rabbits, as the sign for 'NATE+ EREMIAH FOR PETSMART Designed for your fish, reptiles & small pets' mentioned. It's cool to see how PetSmart designs for such a wide range of furry, scaly, and feathered friends. When choosing cat toys, I always think about safety first. I look for durable materials and avoid anything with small, easily detachable parts that could be swallowed. Supervision is key, especially with new toys. And honestly, the best toy doesn't have to be expensive. Sometimes, a crumpled piece of paper or an empty toilet paper roll is their favorite! Next time you're at PetSmart, take some extra time to explore the cat toy section. You might just find the next purr-fect addition to your cat's playtime routine. Happy shopping!
