it’s not my fault…
Moving away from a close family member, especially a sister, can be a deeply emotional experience that leaves a lasting impact. From my own experience, the ache of suddenly not seeing someone you’re used to sharing everyday moments with can feel overwhelming. Even though physical distance grows, finding small ways to stay connected—maybe through daily messages or video calls—can ease some of the loneliness. It’s natural to feel sad and sometimes blame yourself, but it’s important to remember that these changes are not your fault; life often forces us to adapt unexpectedly. On tougher days when the distance feels broken and overwhelming, reflecting on positive memories can help maintain a sense of closeness. For me, even the thought that I get to see my sister through calls or social media every day, despite being many kilometers away, provides comfort and hope. Relocating or moving apart challenges family ties but also teaches resilience and new ways to love each other. If you find yourself in a similar situation, embracing the sadness while seeking new routines to bridge the gap helps. Whether it’s sharing stories, photos, or planning future visits, every bit of effort strengthens the bond regardless of how far apart you are. Remember, feeling broken at times is part of the healing process, but it doesn’t have to define your relationship forever.
