... Read moreIt's truly amazing to look back at my journey and see how much my body has transformed, not just on the outside, but internally too. When I first stepped on my Renpho scale, those 'yellow' and even 'red' numbers felt like a harsh reality check. My initial weight was 175lbs, and the scale showed a startling body age of 40 when I was only 33! It was a wake-up call that I needed to take my health seriously.
Getting those numbers to 'green' wasn't an overnight miracle, but a consistent effort. I learned that it's not just about the number on the scale, but understanding what metrics like BMI, body fat percentage, skeletal muscle, and even BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) truly mean. For instance, my initial body fat percentage was much higher than recommended, and my skeletal muscle mass was lower. The Renpho scale provided those crucial insights, showing me where I needed to focus. The OCR data clearly shows my progress: from May 31, 2022, to August 29, 2024, I managed to drop 46.8lb, with my weight going from 175lb down to 128.6lb. My body fat also decreased by 9.3%, a significant improvement that truly reflects better health.
I started by making small, sustainable changes. For me, that meant focusing on whole, unprocessed foods and gradually incorporating more movement into my day. Instead of drastic diets, I aimed for balanced meals rich in protein to support muscle growth and satiety. Understanding my BMR helped me figure out a sensible calorie target. I also started trending my measurements regularly to see the progress, even when the scale didn't move as quickly as I hoped. There were days of frustration, but seeing the trends on the Renpho app—like my weight gradually decreasing and my body fat percentage dropping significantly—kept me motivated. It also helped me see other positive changes, like my fat-free body weight improving and my visceral fat reducing, which are vital for long-term health.
One thing I wish I knew earlier is the importance of consistency over perfection. Some days I missed a workout or indulged a little, but I always got back on track. Tracking metrics beyond just weight, like my increasing muscle mass and decreasing visceral fat, gave me a more holistic view of my health. It wasn't just about fitting into old clothes; it was about feeling stronger, more energetic, and truly healthier from the inside out. My body water and bone mass also showed healthy levels by the end of my journey, contributing to that overall feeling of well-being. If you're on a similar journey, don't just focus on the big goal. Celebrate those small 'green' victories, understand your body's unique metrics, and keep pushing forward. It's truly empowering to take control of your health and see those numbers turn in your favor!
Oh I have to look into it
