We went from texting Each other every day

6/21 Edited to

... Read moreI've noticed that many friendships change over time, especially when we used to text each other daily and then suddenly the messages slow down or stop. From my own experience, this shift can happen for various reasons—busy schedules, life changes, or simply growing apart. Often, it’s not about losing care, but about different priorities taking over. For example, in a close friendship of mine, we used to talk every day, sharing small details and big moments alike. Gradually, the frequency decreased, starting with missing a day or two, then stretching into weeks. When I asked why, the answer was usually related to being busy or overwhelmed. This experience taught me the importance of understanding that communication changes don’t always mean the friendship is lost; sometimes it’s just evolving. Texting every day can be a beautiful way to feel connected, but it’s also natural for people to need space or to focus on other aspects of life. Recognizing this helps reduce feelings of rejection or sadness. It’s helpful to cherish the memories of those daily conversations while being open to new ways of staying connected, whether through occasional calls, meeting up, or simple check-ins. If you find yourself in a similar situation—the texts once flowing daily now sparse—try to reflect on the bond realistically and communicate openly if possible. Friendships, like any relationship, require empathy and adaptation. Ultimately, the goal is to maintain genuine connection, even if the mode and frequency of contact change over time.
