GRWM for Monster Jam
I don’t know why I was expecting it to be super cold inside… #grwm #ootd #monsterjam #monstertrucks
Okay, so who else gets totally stumped on what to wear for events like Monster Jam? I know I did when I was getting ready for the show in Rhode Island! I thought it might be chilly inside, especially with some snow this morning, but I quickly realized layering was key. Here’s what I learned and what worked for me to stay comfy and enjoy all the action! My 'final fit' ended up being super practical but still cute. I started with a white Amazon Basics turtleneck. Seriously, a good basic turtleneck is a lifesaver for layering, keeping you warm without being bulky! Then, light blue jeans – always a classic for comfort and casual style. For my top layer, I debated between a classic Penguins jersey and a Thrasher's, and went with the Thrasher's today. A hockey jersey was surprisingly perfect; it’s casual, adds a good layer of warmth, and totally fits the high-energy vibe of a monster truck show. Don't forget comfy black socks and closed-toe shoes – trust me on this, you'll be glad you wore sneakers over sandals or open-toed shoes! Even if it's chilly outside like it was for me (that morning snow was a surprise!), arenas can get quite warm with all the people and the excitement. But also, you might be outside for a bit if you're heading to the pit party beforehand. So, dressing in layers is really the best advice for Monster Jam. If it's a summer show, think breathable fabrics but still protect yourself from potential dust, dirt, or even splashes. A light jacket, hoodie, or flannel is always a good idea to have on hand, just in case. Speaking of protection, let's talk about ear protection! This is a HUGE one and I can't stress it enough. Monster Jam is incredibly LOUD. Seriously, bring earplugs or noise-canceling headphones, especially for kids. You'll thank me later, your ears will too! I saw so many people regretting not having them once the trucks started roaring. If you have tickets to the pit party, that's a whole other level of fun that's definitely worth checking out! This is where you can get down on the dirt with the trucks, meet drivers, and get autographs. For the pit party, wear shoes you don't mind getting a little dusty or even a bit muddy, and definitely dress comfortably because you'll be walking around a lot. It’s often held outdoors or in a less-controlled environment than the arena itself, so factor that into your 'what to wear' planning. People often ask, 'how long does a Monster Jam show last?' Typically, the main event runs for about 2 to 2.5 hours, including a short intermission. If you're doing the pit party beforehand, add another 1.5 to 2 hours for that, so plan your day accordingly. As for general 'rules,' it's mostly common sense – follow arena guidelines, no outside food/drinks usually, and be mindful of your surroundings. Most importantly, just go ready to have a blast and be prepared for some serious noise and excitement! Overall, my experience was amazing, and being dressed right definitely helped me enjoy every moment. So, whether you're going for the first time or are a seasoned fan, remember to layer up, protect your ears, and wear those comfy shoes!
