Thrift store try-on — Part 1
This is the first part of a little thrift series I’m doing, and this one is all about bottoms I’ll be wearing to the office this spring and summer.
If I’m being honest, I haven’t really been loving my current spring/summer wardrobe. It just feels a little off, like nothing is coming together the way I want it to like my winter/fall wardrobe. I’m trying to be more intentional and bring in a few pieces that can hopefully make me fall back in love with what I already have.
Everything here is thrifted, and I tried to stick to things that feel wearable for real life and the office…comfortable enough for a full day, but still put together. I’ve definitely been gravitating toward looser, more relaxed fits lately, especially as it starts to warm up.
The goal is to mix these in with pieces I already own and actually feel excited getting dressed again, instead of staring at my closet wondering why nothing works.
Part 2 will be everything else I picked up, but these are the bottoms I’m hoping become staples in my office rotation.
Which one would you wear?

As someone who’s also struggled with refreshing their spring and summer wardrobe for the office, I completely relate to the feeling of having nothing that quite fits the vibe or comfort needed for longer days. One thing I’ve learned from my thrift adventures is that focusing on breathable, loose-fitting bottoms can really change the game. Items like flowy linen pants and wide-leg trousers not only look effortlessly stylish but also keep you comfortable throughout the workday, especially when the temperature starts to climb. Shopping secondhand has given me the chance to experiment with different styles without the guilt of overspending. When I pick thrifted pieces, I always pay close attention to the fabric and condition — for office wear, comfort and durability are key. Adjustable features, like those on some strapless dresses or pants with an elastic waistband, have been a lifesaver for accommodating changing weather or all-day wear. I’ve also found that mixing these thrifted bottoms with classic tops I already own breathes fresh life into my wardrobe. Pairing neutral, loose trousers with a crisp blouse or a cozy knit lets me create looks that are simple yet polished. Plus, the satisfaction of putting together outfits from thrifted gems adds a personal touch to my style. Lastly, don’t be afraid to embrace a bit of fun with prints or textures. A bold skirt or vibrant pants can be a great statement piece while still suitable for office settings when balanced with understated pieces. Thrifting offers a treasure trove of unique finds like this and helps build a more sustainable, intentional wardrobe that keeps you excited about getting dressed every day.
