GRWM to go sneaker shopping for Teddy
We’ve officially reached the point where his sneakers are not holding up and the main issue is the Velcro just isn’t staying closed anymore.
So now his shoes are literally falling off his feet all day. Which is not ideal.
I feel like we just got them, but between running, climbing, and dragging his feet everywhere, they didn’t stand a chance.
So today’s mission is to find something a little more durable (and with Velcro that actually works). Hopefully we can move away from New Balance.
Wearing my dino skirt today to keep things a little fun, but otherwise keeping it practical. There will be running around and trying things on.
Hoping we leave with shoes that actually stay on his feet…we’ll see.
Any toddler sneaker recs??

When it comes to toddler sneakers, durability and a secure fit are absolutely crucial, especially for little ones who are constantly on the move. I’ve gone through similar struggles when shopping for my toddler’s shoes—Velcro that doesn’t fasten properly is a common frustration because it leads to shoes slipping off during playtime, which is both inconvenient and unsafe. From my experience, investing in sneakers that have reinforced Velcro straps rather than just a simple fastening can make a significant difference. Brands like Stride Rite and See Kai Run often get recommended by parents for their strong Velcro closures and rugged build designed to withstand climbing, running, and even some dragging of feet. These shoes usually have sturdy soles and supportive designs that help toddlers stay comfortable and protected. Another tip is to consider shoes with a slightly wider fit if your toddler has chubby feet or tends to outgrow shoes fast. This can prevent early wear on the Velcro and provide extra room for movement, increasing overall comfort. Also, look for materials that are easy to clean but durable, such as synthetic leathers and breathable mesh. Choosing sneakers can definitely be a trial-and-error process since toddlers grow so quickly and their activity levels vary, but reading reviews and seeking recommendations from other parents can help narrow down options. It’s great to see moms keeping things fun with a dino skirt or cozy styling while making the shopping trip practical—and it’s a good reminder to keep both the child’s comfort and style in mind! If you’re also on the hunt for toddler sneakers that truly last, focus on how well the Velcro holds up and whether the shoe design supports all-day activity. Switching brands can be refreshing when one doesn’t meet your expectations. Sharing your own experiences or favorite toddler sneaker brands can shed light on the best picks for durable, secure, and stylish footwear.
