GRWM for a rainy day in the office
Rainy day = skirt day because I refuse to deal with wet pant hems from puddles. There is nothing worse than sitting at your desk all day in damp fabric, so skirts and dresses just make more sense on days like this.
Trying to balance staying dry with still looking put together for the office, especially with a commute in the mix. Keeping everything simple, comfortable, and easy to layer in case the temperature changes throughout the day.
One of those outfits that is less about being creative and more about being practical, but honestly, those are usually the ones I end up loving the most.
Dealing with rainy days while maintaining a polished office look can be quite challenging, especially when wet trousers become uncomfortable after a long commute. From my experience, opting for skirts or dresses is a game changer on such days. Not only do skirts prevent the wet fabric issues associated with pants, but they also offer versatility when layering. For example, pairing a skirt with a black cardigan and a simple black shirt underneath, like a classic monochrome combo, keeps you looking sleek and professional while providing warmth. When selecting skirt length, consider a midi style to avoid getting caught in puddles or wind. Ankle boots are ideal footwear choices because they help keep feet dry and add a touch of edge to your outfit. Accessories also play a key role; swapping delicate necklaces for ones with bolder pendants, such as floral designs, can brighten up a rainy day ensemble. Another useful tip is to choose fabrics that dry quickly or resist water absorption, like synthetic blends or treated cottons. These materials keep you comfortable throughout the day, especially if you have to walk or wait outdoors. Layering is essential due to unpredictable indoor/outdoor temperatures – a lightweight cardigan or a thin jacket that fits easily in a tote bag can be your best friend. Lastly, practicality doesn’t mean sacrificing style. By focusing on simple, neutral-colored pieces and easy-to-wear combinations, you create outfits that are both functional and fashionable. These are the looks I find myself reaching for most often, proving that practicality can also be your style statement on rainy office days.
