JB cafes: niko niko onigiri 🍙 & slow day 🍵🍰
📍Niko Niko Onigiri • Johor Jaya
MUST GET: Truffle carbonara udon, mentaiko tamago, chicken nanban
- it’s been a week and i’m still thinking about the truffle udon. it’s rich, creamy and smooth, with the perfect hint of truffle taste👌
- everything came in big portions, especially the salmon bibimbap, which we couldn’t finish😅 it was mid though, more like a fusion salad bowl with avocado, corn and kimchi
- chicken nanban had HUGE chunks of freshly fried chicken and a generous amount of sauce
- we also got onigiris (not in the pictures) (can u tell we overordered)! there are many fillings u can choose from. the onigiris were big and freshly made! we wanted to take away an onigiri so the staff wrapped it up like those convenience store ones where they separate the seaweed and the rice so that the seaweed remains crispy😛 very professional👏
- hojicha latte was not bad, strawberry matcha was a bit weird, and the studio ghibli drink was quite mid (just tasted like diluted yoghurt)
Overall, i’d rate this cafe a 4.5/5! i would defo be back for the truffle udon and mentaiko. ambience wise it’s a quiet, open and brightly lit cafe. we spent half our meal battling flies😭
💰Total price: SGD52.73 (RM168.75)
I get the hype. the matcha cake and chocolate cake were rich and smooth, and had matcha/chocolate chunks in the middle. i also got the vienna matcha latte which was a bit bitter yet rich! ambience wise it’s quite vibes with an artsy concept
