What Rocketeer

Okay, fellow Arc Raiders, let's talk about the Rocketeers! When I first encountered one, I was completely caught off guard. These guys are no joke, and if you're like me, you probably got blasted into oblivion a few times before figuring out their deal. So, what exactly is a Rocketeer in the world of ARC Raiders? Simply put, they are one of the more agile and explosive enemy types you'll face, characterized by their jetpacks and, you guessed it, rocket launchers! They tend to hover above the ground, making them tricky to hit, and their primary attack is a barrage of homing rockets that can quickly deplete your health or even destroy your cover. My first few encounters at places like RAIDER CAMP were chaotic. I remember trying to take one down while feeling totally UNARMED against its onslaught, wishing I had a better strategy than just spraying and praying. But after a lot of trial and error, I've developed a few go-to tactics that make dealing with them feel like EASY WORK now. First, target priority is key. Rocketeers often appear alongside other ARC units, but their explosive damage makes them a high-threat target. Try to focus them down quickly. Their jetpack is usually a weak point – if you can hit it consistently, you might disrupt their flight or even cause an explosion. Weapons with high single-shot damage or precise aiming, like a sniper rifle or a well-placed shotgun blast, can be very effective. I’ve found that using the ANVIL (if you have it!) or similar heavy-hitting weapons can really stagger them. Secondly, movement and cover are your best friends. Those rockets are fast, but they can be avoided. Keep moving, use dodges, and always have solid cover available. Don't stand still, especially when they're locking onto you. If you find yourself in an open area, popping a FLASHLIGHT might briefly disorient them, giving you a split second to reposition or land a critical shot, though I haven't confirmed that particular trick myself – just a thought! Areas like VICTORY RIDGE often provide good elevation which can be both a blessing and a curse. Sometimes you can get above them, other times they get above you. Third, if you're playing with a squad, coordination is crucial. Have one person draw aggro while others focus fire on the Rocketeer's weak points. If you get hit by a rocket, don't panic! Use your med-kits and get back into cover. I’ve learned that panicking usually leads to getting hit by the follow-up rockets. Finally, keep an eye out for tell-tale signs. They often emit a distinct whirring sound before attacking, and you can usually see the glow of their rocket launchers powering up. Anticipate their moves, and you'll find them much easier to manage. Once you get the hang of it, these once-feared enemies become just another challenge to overcome as you work to protect humanity from the Destrayed ARC. Trust me, once you master them, you'll feel like a true Arc Raider legend!
