... Read moreOkay, so you've seen my 'alive, no unplanned pregnancies, & slightly hydrated' post, and maybe you're wondering, 'Is that really *thriving*?' And honestly, for me, sometimes it absolutely is! It's easy to look at social media and feel like everyone else is scaling mountains, starting businesses, and living their best, most glamorous lives. But what if 'fully alive and thriving' looks a little different for us mere mortals? I remember talking to a friend recently, and she asked, 'How are your New Year's resolutions going?' My immediate, honest thought was, 'Well, I haven't gotten pregnant or died yet, and I've had two sips of water this morning. Honestly, I'm crushing it!' And you know what? In that moment, that was me crushing it. It's about setting the bar where you are, not where society, or even your past self, thinks you should be. For me, a big part of feeling 'fully alive' lately has been about embracing the small wins. We're constantly bombarded with messages about achieving greatness, but sometimes just making it through the day, staying hydrated, or avoiding major catastrophes is a monumental achievement. It’s a quiet rebellion against the pressure to be constantly productive and 'on.' I've learned that 'thriving' isn't always about grand gestures or huge milestones. Sometimes it's about the resilience of just showing up. It's about acknowledging the effort it takes to maintain basic well-being when life throws curveballs. Maybe it's finally drinking that glass of water, getting five minutes of fresh air, or just managing to cook a simple meal instead of ordering takeout again. These aren't headline-making feats, but they are crucial for mental and physical survival. So, if you're like me, and your definition of 'thriving' sometimes looks more like 'not actively failing,' you're not alone. Let's redefine success on our own terms. Let's celebrate the fact that we're here, we're trying, and sometimes, simply being 'alive, no unplanned pregnancies, & slightly hydrated' is a victory worth acknowledging. It's about finding joy and strength in the everyday, even when the everyday feels like a lot. And for anyone still pushing through this year, remember: if you’re still standing, you’re already crushing it. Keep going!
