Sunday. Pilates and Run (later)

Singapore

... Read moreAfter several weeks of consistent Pilates sessions, I've started noticing subtle but meaningful changes in my core strength and posture. Reformer Pilates, in particular, has been a game-changer; the controlled movements really engage muscles I didn’t realize I had. Before starting Pilates, my core was relatively weak, and I often felt low back discomfort, especially after long periods of sitting. Now, I feel more stable and confident in my movements. I remember the challenge of balancing Pilates with running on my Sundays. Some days, after intense core workouts, I question whether I should push myself to run or rest. Listening to my body has become key – sometimes that run feels just right to round off the session; other times, recovery is the priority. The photo from my recent workout shows a typical ‘planking’ moment, which is a staple for core engagement in Pilates and helps strengthen the midsection effectively. My heart rate data during Pilates often shows moderate intensity, which surprised me as it feels more relaxed than a run but still works hard. If you’re thinking about how Pilates might change your body over time, I’d say consistency is essential. It reshapes your strength and endurance gradually, improving both your mind and body connection. Pairing it with runs can complement cardiovascular fitness while Pilates enhances muscular balance. For anyone starting out, focus on form and breathing rather than speed or quantity. Celebrate your progress, whether it’s improved flexibility, less pain, or better daily posture. Pilates before and after photos often highlight these physical transformations, but the internal benefits truly make the difference.

this process is, frankly, painstaking to me. 😩 every couple of months, i embark into a long pensive state, wondering what studio i should commit to or stay at, and therefore purchase a package at. i wonder what best aligns with my goals and financial state as a student, and think about what sale
