Joanns Haul

I wanna talk about something bittersweet. We finally got a good amount of money, because taxes happened this year, yay! We have plans for things we have wanted and needed all year, and to fix some house stuff, plus be able to save, how awesome!

However, Joann Fabrics is liquidating all their stores, meaning no more orders or new stock, so we made a trip there today to grab whatever I could (and some things my kiddo wanted, she got 3 different yards of fabric), and there were SO MANY PEOPLE and a lot of the Big Twist stuff was picked clean through, so I grabbed what I could.

Literally everything I got was on some sort of sale, between 10-70% off, and I came home with a one time large haul that was a LOT cheaper than it would ever be.

I cried in the car. There were so many people. My favorite crafting place will be gone, today was the last Joanns trip I will get to take, ever. They don't sell Big Twist outside of Joanns, so I don't know if I will ever get more, either.

Please enjoy pictures of the haul. I will be working through everything I have prior and this new set, to make items for when the craft shows start in the spring. We will be getting some adjustable tables, clothing forms, hat forms, and tent weights, so I can really go for it.

... Read moreAs Joann Fabrics faces liquidation, many crafters are eager to grab their favorite supplies before it's too late. Big Twist yarn, a staple for many DIY enthusiasts, provides a wide range of colors and textures ideal for crochet and knitting projects. Now, more than ever, shoppers should plan visits to local stores, keeping an eye out for significant sales and discounts on fabric and crafting materials. Additionally, tips for maximizing your shopping trip include arriving early to avoid crowds, making a list of essentials, and exploring clearance sections for hidden gems. With the seasonal craft shows approaching, many crafters are preparing their inventories. Sharing ideas on how to repurpose leftover materials can spark creativity within the crafting community. Perhaps consider hosting a fabric swap event among friends or joining local craft meetups to share resources and inspiration. Not only does this promote sustainability, but it also fosters connections with fellow creators who can offer fresh perspectives and ideas for upcoming projects. Lastly, let’s support our local craft stores during these challenging times, as they often serve as community hubs for inspiration and collaboration. Whether through online orders or last-minute shopping trips, showing support is crucial for the survival of local businesses, especially those that provide unique products like Big Twist yarn and specialty fabrics.
