ALL GLORY BE TO GOD #christmas #christian #Jesus
I wanted to share a Bible verse that has been profoundly speaking to my heart lately: Galatians 4:4-5 ESV. It reads, “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.” For me, this verse is a cornerstone of understanding God’s incredible love and meticulous plan. The phrase “when the fullness of time had come” really stands out. It means God didn't act impulsively or randomly; His timing was absolutely perfect, orchestrated from eternity. Imagine how the world was prepared: the widespread use of Greek, the Roman road system allowing for easy travel, and the Jewish people awaiting their Messiah. God waited for the perfect moment in human history to send Jesus, demonstrating His complete sovereignty and wisdom. It’s a beautiful thought that gives me so much peace – He doesn't rush, He waits for the optimal moment. Then, “God sent forth his Son.” This isn't just a story; it’s the very heart of our Christian faith. God, in His infinite love, didn't just send an angel or a prophet; He sent Himself in the person of Jesus. It highlights the divine commitment and the unparalleled love of a Father willing to give His only Son for us. This act of sending Jesus, the pure and innocent Son, often brings to mind images like a gentle white lamb, peacefully resting in green grass, symbolizing His purity and sacrificial nature. “Born of woman, born under the law” emphasizes Jesus’s full humanity and His purpose. He truly became one of us, experiencing life with all its joys, sorrows, and temptations, yet without sin. Being “born under the law” meant He willingly subjected Himself to the very laws we couldn’t keep. This was crucial for His mission: “to redeem those who were under the law.” We, who were bound by sin and unable to meet God's perfect standards, are now redeemed through Him. It’s an incredible exchange – our sin for His righteousness. And the incredible outcome? “So that we might receive adoption as sons.” This is truly mind-blowing! We're not just forgiven; we’re adopted into God's family. We become His cherished children, heirs with Christ. This truth brings such comfort and empowerment, knowing we have a loving Father who actively chose us. Meditating on Galatians 4:4-5 ESV really deepens my appreciation for Jesus and the incredible gift of salvation. It also serves as a personal reminder to trust in God’s timing in my own life. If He perfectly orchestrated the arrival of His Son, surely He has a perfect plan for every aspect of my journey. What does this powerful verse mean to you?
