Drawn under the six parade of planets and finished yesterday under the new moon 🌑✨
That was an accident, but the astrology folks say big things will be put out into the world under these skies. So hell yeah.
I'm obsessed with this starry illustration which -- SURPRISE -- will be the next woven tapestry bell pull 🪡
It's very whimsi-goth, very mystical, and simple.
Honestly I was craving a simple star and sun painting in my art style. Simple hits right when you're craving it, and it's exactly what I was aiming for.
But this illustration is also a bit experimental.
Usually, when designing for the woven tapestries, I use illustrations where the background is flat and the foreground subjects are watercolor.
In this one, the background is watercolor and the foreground is made flat with digital paint.
Let's see how it translates on jacquard fabric!!! 🤞🏼
The dimensions are tall because it was painted specifically with the bell pull tapestry in mind.
Not sure if I'll offer any printed things with it. Maybe a cropped version? Maybe I'll make it into pillows or tote bags too?
No matter what, I'm sure this painting will do big things.
