5 years as a full time artist
It's wild thinking back on my last 5 years. May always holds a special place in my heart because it's the month I finally went full time as an artist back in 2021. And I've gotten so used to it that the whole month passed me by without me thinking about my job quitting anniversary.
Cheers to the next five years ✨

Looking back on five years of being a full-time artist really puts into perspective how quickly time flies when you're doing what you love. It’s amazing how May holds such a special significance in this journey — it’s the month when everything changed, transitioning from a traditional job to fully immersing in art. I’ve learned that dedicating yourself to a creative passion isn’t just about making art; it’s about embracing a lifestyle that requires discipline, constant learning, and emotional resilience. One thing that struck me is how fast the years seem to pass, often without daily realization. Like the images say, “Everything... so fast... And suddenly... it’s been 5 years.” The passage of time can feel sudden but also rewarding when looking back at how much has evolved personally and artistically. Throughout this journey, engaging with the art community online and offline has been invaluable. Hashtags like #artlife and #artistlifestyle aren’t just trendy—they represent a supportive space where artists share challenges, triumphs, and advice. Building a network around your passion fuels motivation and can open unexpected opportunities. From practical experience, turning a hobby into a career involves more than talent. It’s about building a brand, marketing yourself, learning to price work fairly, and maintaining client relationships — all while nurturing creativity. Continuous growth is key, whether experimenting with new styles or mediums or deepening your unique artistic voice. To anyone inspired by this path: keep exploring what makes art meaningful to you. Celebrate milestones, no matter how small, and stay open to the surprises the journey brings. Here’s to the next five years and beyond of creativity, discovery, and fulfillment.
