touring another college campus for fun :)

Walking onto the Northwestern University campus for the first time felt like stepping into a dream, especially since I never got to do proper college tours in high school. This visit to the Northwestern University lakeside campus was purely for fun, and it absolutely delivered! As the sun began to dip, transforming the sky into hues of orange and purple, I embarked on what turned out to be the most enchanting college campus sunset walk I could have imagined. The unique charm of Northwestern really comes from its incredible location right on Lake Michigan. The expansive lakeside campus offers serene walking paths right by the water, where you can feel the gentle breeze and listen to the soft lapping of the waves. I found myself drawn to a spot where two people were sitting on rocks by the large body of water, simply taking in the peaceful surroundings. It’s easy to see why students and visitors alike cherish these moments of tranquility amidst their busy lives. The reflections of the sky and the campus buildings on the water surface were just mesmerizing. As I continued my sunset walk, the campus began to glow. A person was walking through a grassy field towards a large tree, silhouetted against the vibrant sky – a picturesque scene straight out of a movie. The iconic Northwestern campus skyline, with its gothic tower reaching towards the heavens, looked absolutely majestic against the beautiful sunset sky. It's a stark yet beautiful contrast to the modern glass buildings that also dot the campus, which were starting to illuminate and cast their own shimmering reflections on the water as dusk settled in. Exploring this beautiful environment, it felt less like a formal tour and more like an immersive experience. Every corner offered a new view, a new moment to capture. The transition from golden hour to twilight really highlights the architectural beauty and natural splendor of this university. If you're ever in the Chicago area, even if you’re not a prospective student, I highly recommend taking the time for a stroll. It’s an incredibly rewarding experience to witness such a gorgeous setting. And for an extra special treat, just a short distance away, we stayed long enough for the sunset to fully unfold, catching a glimpse of the ornate dome of the Baháʼí House of Worship visible against the vibrant sunset sky. It perfectly capped off an already stunning college campus sunset walk. This visit truly showed me the beauty of exploring new places, even if it's just for the sheer joy of it. What a memorable experience!
