🍞Just a Little Daily Bread…🍞

Psalm 90:12 ~

“Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.”

There comes a moment when you realize…

life is moving faster than you ever imagined.

The laundry will still be there.

The emails can wait another hour.

The dishes will eventually get done.

But the people we love?

The moments God gives us?

Those are the treasures we don’t get back.

Life is too short to stay angry.

Too short to carry bitterness.

Too short to spend our days chasing things that won’t matter in eternity.

One day, we will not wish we worked more.

We will wish we loved deeper.

Forgave quicker.

Laughed louder.

Prayed harder.

And sat longer at the table with the people God placed in front of us.

Jesus never rushed past people.

He stopped for them.

Loved them.

Healed them.

Listened to them.

Maybe today is a reminder to slow down and notice what Heaven notices.

Call the person.

Forgive the offense.

Hold your babies tighter.

Take the picture.

Pray over the meal.

Tell people about Jesus.

Make the memories.

Because life is not found in perfection.

It’s found in presence! 🙌🏼

And every breath we have is a gift from God! 🙌🏼

Lord, help us not waste the life You have given us.

Teach us to love well, forgive freely, and live with eternal perspective. Slow our rushing hearts and remind us what truly matters. Let our homes, our tables, and our lives reflect Your love everywhere we go. In Jesus’ name, amen! 🤍

Reflecting on the message that life is fleeting and precious has transformed the way I approach each day. It’s so easy to get caught up in the rush—emails, chores, and endless to-dos that never truly define our legacy. But when I consciously pause and focus on what really matters, I find a richer, more meaningful experience. For example, setting aside daily distractions to truly listen and engage with family creates memories far more valuable than any task checked off a list. Living with an eternal perspective, as highlighted in Psalm 90:12—"Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom"—invites us to slow down and love intentionally. Forgiveness, once challenging, becomes a liberating practice that frees the heart from bitterness. Holding our children a little longer, forgiving offenses promptly, or simply sharing a heartfelt prayer over a meal nurtures both relationships and spirit. I’ve also noticed how following Jesus’ example—stopping for people, loving without hesitation, healing and listening attentively—shifts priorities away from perfectionism toward presence.
