Breaking Bread at the Mustard Seed with Stacey

🍞Just a Little Daily Bread…🍞

Matthew 11:28 ~

“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

The world tells us to keep going.

Work harder.

Push further.

Do more.

Be more.

But Jesus offers something different.

Rest!

Not because the work is finished.

Not because every prayer has been answered.

Not because every problem has disappeared.

But because His presence refreshes our souls!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Sometimes we think rest is doing nothing.

Biblical rest is much deeper than that.

It’s laying down our worries.

It’s releasing our need to control everything.

It’s trusting God with what we cannot carry.

It’s sitting at His feet and remembering that He is God and we are not.

Friend, you do not have to carry the weight of tomorrow today.

You do not have to have all the answers.

You do not have to fix every problem.

Today, simply come to Jesus! 🙌🏼

Bring Him your burdens.

Bring Him your fears.

Bring Him your unanswered prayers.

Bring Him your weary heart.

And allow His peace to wash over you.

The same God who carried you through this week will carry you through the next one too.

Rest in Him! 🙌🏼🤍🙌🏼

Father, thank You for being my refuge and my rest. Help me lay down every burden I’ve been carrying and trust You with what I cannot control. Refresh my heart, renew my mind, and fill me with Your peace. Thank You for walking with me through every season of life. In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🤍

... Read moreIn today’s fast-paced world, the invitation to "rest in His presence" is more vital than ever. The encouragement from Matthew 11:28 to come to Jesus for rest resonates deeply, especially when we face continuous pressure to perform and control every aspect of our lives. From personal experience, embracing this kind of spiritual rest has transformed how I handle stress and anxiety. True biblical rest goes much beyond merely pausing activity. It’s an active surrender—letting go of our constant striving and placing our worries, fears, and uncertainties into God's hands. This practice has helped me release control and find peace even when the future seems overwhelming or when prayers remain unanswered. Sitting "at His feet" means cultivating a daily quiet time where I intentionally focus on God’s presence, allowing His grace to renew my mind and refresh my heart. The message from the Mustard Seed community and Stacey’s reflection reminds me that rest found in God is a refuge amidst daily trials. Even when burdens feel heavy, this rest provides strength to continue, knowing I’m supported by a power greater than myself. I’ve learned to approach each new week by entrusting God with what I cannot carry and drawing energy from His unwavering presence. If you’re feeling weary or burdened today, consider the possibility of spiritual rest as more than just taking a break. It’s a mindful act of faith that brings lasting peace and soul renewal. Lean into the truth that God’s grace is enough, and let His presence carry you through every season. Reflect on what burdens you need to place into His hands, and discover that genuine rest is a gift accessible to everyone who comes to Him.
