✨ 1 Churro recipe : 4 different flavors ✨

These were always some of my favorite snacks growing up so I learned how to bake them! Well fry them I guess!

Ingredients

•1 cup water

•2 tbsp sugar

•2 tbsp butter

•¼ tsp salt

•1 cup all-purpose flour

•1 tsp vanilla extract

•Oil, for frying

Cinnamon Sugar

•½ cup sugar

•1–2 tsp cinnamon

Directions

- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F. In a saucepan, bring water, sugar, butter, and salt to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in flour until a dough forms. Mix in vanilla. Let cool slightly, then transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip.

- Pipe 4–6 inch strips into hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and roll in cinnamon sugar while warm. You can top them with Oreos and chocolate sauce, caramel, and Nutella and strawberries.

From my own experience, the key to perfect churros is ensuring the oil temperature stays around 350°F; too hot and they burn quickly, too cool and they absorb too much oil and become greasy. Using a piping bag with a star tip helps create those signature ridges, which hold the cinnamon sugar and toppings beautifully. I love experimenting with different toppings beyond the traditional cinnamon sugar. Adding crushed Oreos and drizzling warm chocolate sauce creates a deliciously indulgent treat, while strawberries and Nutella bring a fresh, fruity twist that balances the sweetness. Another variation I enjoy is caramel drizzle, which adds a rich and buttery flavor. For those looking for a slightly healthier approach, baking churros instead of frying is an option, though frying produces that classic crispiness that's hard to beat. Serving churros fresh and warm is crucial, as they tend to lose their delightful texture as they cool. This recipe is great for family gatherings or anytime you crave a nostalgic snack that’s quick to make and always satisfying.
