🌟Copycat Recipe Auntie Anne’s Pretzel 🌟

If you’ve ever walked through the mall and smelled those warm buttery pretzels from Auntie Anne’s, you already know how hard it is to resist. I decided to recreate their classic salted pretzel at home, and honestly this version comes out soft, fluffy, and perfectly salty just like the original.

The secret is the baking soda bath and butter finish, which gives the pretzels that signature chewy outside and soft inside.

Ingredients

• 1 cup warm water

• 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

• 2 tbsp brown sugar

• 2½ cups all-purpose flour

• ½ tsp salt

Baking soda bath

• 4 cups water

• ¼ cup baking soda

Topping

• 3 tbsp melted butter

• Coarse pretzel salt

Instructions

1.In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and brown sugar. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.

2.Add flour and salt and mix until a dough forms. Knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.

3.Cover the dough and let it rise for 45–60 minutes until doubled in size.

4.Divide dough into 6–8 pieces and roll each piece into a long rope. Twist into the classic pretzel shape.

5.Bring 4 cups of water and baking soda to a boil. Dip each pretzel into the baking soda water for 20–30 seconds.

6.Place pretzels on a lined baking sheet and bake at 425°F for 10–12 minutes until golden brown.

7.Brush with melted butter immediately and sprinkle with coarse pretzel salt.
