Stay in Your Lane — The CBT Way

Today on the expressway, I watched cars rush past me — some 20 miles over the limit — like they were running from time itself.

But I realized something: life works just like traffic. We all share the same road, but not everyone drives with awareness.

Some people live fast, chasing every impulse. Others drive steady — choosing mindfulness over mayhem. And that’s where Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) becomes your GPS.

CBT teaches us to slow down our thoughts before they crash — to challenge the mental speeders that whisper:

> “You’re behind.”

“You have to go faster.”

“You’re not doing enough.”

Here’s your CBT tool for today:

🧠 Catch it. Check it. Change it.

1. Catch it — Notice the thought that’s speeding. (“I’m falling behind.”)

2. Check it — Ask, “Is that fact or fear?”

3. Change it — Reframe: “I’m moving at the pace that keeps me balanced, aware, and alive.”
