How do you limit your screen time?

I have been trying to set limits using the opal app. It has been really great… but for me i’m always all or nothing with setting restrictions. I tried to limit every app but calls and messages sunday’s but i’ve already changed it. I currently have social media blocked 10 pm- 9 am and that has been a positive change for sure!

Any tips for sunday’s / other day/ consistency???

Beyond simply blocking social media from 10 pm to 9 am, creating a sustainable digital routine can greatly enhance productivity and mental health. One effective strategy is to designate 'tech-free' periods during the day, especially on Sundays, to focus on offline activities such as family time, reading, or outdoor recreation. This approach helps reset your mind and reduces reliance on digital stimuli. Consistency is key when managing screen time. Apps like Opal help by automating restrictions, but pairing these tools with personal goals improves success. Setting realistic targets and gradually adjusting limits can prevent an all-or-nothing mindset, which may cause frustration or relapse. Additionally, practicing mindfulness around digital use, such as tracking app usage and reflecting on how screen time affects mood and energy, can foster a conscious relationship with technology. For Sundays, consider a 'Sunday Reset' theme—as suggested by popular social media hashtags—to dedicate the day to rest and rejuvenation without digital distractions. Integrating communication priorities, such as allowing calls and messages, ensures you stay connected without compromising boundaries. Ultimately, combining technology solutions with intentional habits creates a balanced approach to limit screen time effectively.
