Apple Watch to Garmin

My Series 5 Apple Watch finally pushed me over the edge 🫠

After watching Apple roll out Series 9 and realizing the price keeps climbing… I had to ask myself what I actually use my watch for.

Spoiler: not much “smart” stuff.

I track workouts.

I track steps.

I check my heart rate.

I glance at texts.

That’s it.

So I switched to the Garmin Lily 2 Active and honestly? I love that she’s not overly smart. She does what I need without feeling like a tiny iPhone strapped to my wrist.

I’ve had it for a little over two weeks now and I’m really enjoying it. Still learning all the features though 👀

If you have this watch, drop your secret hacks / favorite features below because I want to use it to its full potential 👇🏼💕

... Read moreIt’s been a couple of weeks with my new Garmin Lily 2 Active, and I’m genuinely loving the transition from my Apple Watch Series 5. What really pushed me to make the switch was realizing how much I wasn't using on the Apple Watch. It felt like I was paying for a mini-computer on my wrist when all I truly needed was robust health and fitness tracking. The constant bombardment of notifications and the sheer number of apps, while useful for some, often became a distraction for me. And let's not even start on the daily charging – that was a hassle I frankly grew tired of. I just wanted something that looked good, accurately tracked my movement, monitored my heart, and gave me discreet notifications when absolutely necessary, without the overwhelming 'smart' features. The Lily 2 Active has delivered exactly that, proving to be a fantastic Apple Watch alternative for my lifestyle. Visually, I absolutely adore my white Garmin watch with its elegant gold bezel – it feels less like a gadget and more like a stylish accessory, which was a huge draw for me. Performance-wise, it's been a revelation. The battery life alone is a game-changer; going from charging daily to once a week feels incredibly liberating. For my primary uses – tracking workouts, daily steps, and keeping an eye on my heart rate – it's incredibly accurate and intuitive. I've also started exploring the Body Battery energy monitoring, which is a feature I never really delved into with Apple, and it's fascinating to see how my stress levels and activity impact my energy reserves throughout the day. This watch truly is 'Affordable & SMART ENOUGH' for someone who prioritizes core fitness tracking and a sleek design over a full-blown smartwatch experience. When comparing the Lily 2 Active vs Apple Watch directly for my needs, the Garmin shines in its focused simplicity. I don't miss the ability to answer calls from my wrist or have a dozen apps vying for my attention. Instead, I appreciate the clear, concise display of my health metrics and the subtle smart notifications that keep me connected without constantly pulling me into my phone. It's also incredibly lightweight and comfortable, making it forgettable on my wrist, which is a huge plus during workouts or sleep. I'm still discovering all its capabilities, but a few 'hacks' I've picked up already include customizing the watch faces to show exactly the data I want at a glance, and learning to navigate the menus quickly to start a specific workout or check my stats. The Garmin Connect app is also proving to be a fantastic hub for all my health data, offering insights that feel genuinely actionable. For anyone considering a similar 'smartwatch switch' or looking for a reliable Apple Watch alternative that focuses on essential health data without the digital noise, I honestly can't recommend the Garmin Lily 2 Active enough. It's truly a breath of fresh air for those who want a capable fitness tracker that seamlessly blends into their lifestyle without demanding constant attention, especially if aesthetics and battery life are high on your priority list.
