Spiced Pineapple Skin Tea

Ingredients:

- Skins from 1 ripe pineapple (washed)

- 1 tsp cayenne pepper

- 2 cinnamon sticks

- 1 tsp ground turmeric (or 1-inch fresh root)

- 1-inch piece fresh ginger (sliced)

- Peels from 1 orange

- Peels from 1 lemon

(Optional: pinch of black pepper to boost turmeric benefits)

Instructions:

1. Rinse all peels and skins thoroughly.

2. Add all ingredients to a large pot with 8–10 cups of water.

3. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 30–45 minutes.

4. Strain and serve hot or chilled.

Optional: Sweeten with honey or a splash of lemon juice if desired.

You can store your pineapple tea safely for up to 5–7 days in the refrigerator. You can chill it and drink it cold.

Reheating is fine, but only reheat what you’ll drink, use low heat to reduce risk of breaking down the nutrients and try avoiding a microwave.

* You can put more of an ingredient in, just make sure to be careful with how much ginger you include because it will heavily increase the spice level *
