Parasailing 🪂

Oh my gosh, so many of you asked about my parasailing experience in Cancun, and I totally get why! It’s one of those bucket-list adventures you absolutely have to try. If you’re thinking about it, here are my top tips and what I learned to make sure you have the best (and safest!) time soaring above the beautiful Mexican Caribbean. First off, choosing your parasailing company is key. Don't just pick the first one you see on the beach! I did a little research beforehand, looking for operators with great reviews (just like you're probably doing now!). What made me feel confident was seeing their equipment – everything looked well-maintained, and the staff seemed super professional and experienced. They did a thorough safety briefing, pointing out where all the lifejackets were and how they work. You know how everyone is talking about lifejacket safety on TikTok? Well, it's serious stuff when you're out on the ocean! Make sure your lifejacket fits snugly and you feel secure. What to expect before you go up? They’ll get you harnessed up on the back of the boat. It feels a bit like a swing! Listen carefully to their instructions – usually, it's just a 'thumbs up' if you're good, and they’ll teach you how to signal if you want to come down. I recommend wearing swimwear or clothes you don't mind getting a little wet, as you might get a gentle dip in the ocean before or after your flight! Don't forget sunscreen and maybe sunglasses that are secure or have a strap. The actual flight? Pure magic! The ascent is so smooth, and before you know it, you’re hundreds of feet above the water. The silence up there is incredible, broken only by the gentle breeze. My favorite part was spotting the coral reefs and marine life from above – it’s a whole new perspective of the ocean view. Seriously, the turquoise waters of Cancun look even more stunning from that height! If you’re a little nervous about heights, trust me, it’s not like being on a rollercoaster. It’s more serene and calming than you’d think. Safety first, always! Beyond the lifejacket, ask about their weather policy. Reputable companies won't let you fly in bad weather. Also, make sure they have a chase boat or a clear rescue plan in place, just in case. Knowing these things really put my mind at ease and let me fully enjoy the experience. Capturing memories is a must! Many companies offer photo or video packages, or you can bring a GoPro (secured, of course!). Just imagine showing off those incredible shots of you flying high over Cancun! So, if you’re heading to Cancun and looking for an unforgettable adventure, definitely add parasailing to your list.
