Lessons learned as a charitable nonprofit founder

Starting a charitable nonprofit organization comes with abundant advice from various sources. In my experience, not every piece of advice fits your organization's unique context. However, discernment is necessary to decide which advice to embrace. As a Christian founder, seeking God’s direction through prayer and reflection has been invaluable in guiding major decisions and ensuring actions align with a higher purpose. I also found that building a network of trusted advisors who understand your mission deeply can provide more relevant guidance. Engaging with individuals who share your vision helps in receiving advice that complements your goals rather than distracts from them. Incorporating these practices nurtures purposeful leadership and reinforces your nonprofit’s impact.
