I have a few questions that are just ringing in my head and i was hoping to some of them answered here! 🧸🫧
🌺 how often should i wash my hair? i’m mixed (my mom is black and my dad is asian) so i was told, i should wash every other week like once or twice a week.
🌺 what products should i use? how should i properly use them? as of now, im current using mousse but that just leaves my hair flakey and idk if it’s dandruff or the product 😭
🌺 how do i style my hair? since i just use mousse most if the time, i have a comb and i just swoop it so it makes a curl but sometimes it doesn’t hold up. like i have some spots where my hair just doesn’t hold and it gets poofy. (my hair is really short bc i did a big chop)
🌺 do i use oil or not? i cant tell if i should use oil or how often i should use it, sometimes i can feel little bumps but it’s because i have tight follicles.
🌺 my main issue is the products i should be using. i want to get some but ya girl is broke. so any suggestions on products are appreciated!
here’s a list of the products that i have! 🍒
- miss jessie’s senora rizada gel
- dippity do mousse + gel
- carol’s daughter goddess strength set ( comes with oil, moisturizer, hair milk, shampoo and conditioner)

Typically, curly hair should be washed 1-2 times a week to maintain moisture. Consider incorporating co-washing (using conditioner only) to enhance hydration.
Choosing the right products can make a huge difference. Lightweight gels and creams work best for defining curls without weighing them down. Look for products labeled for curly or textured hair, as they are formulated to retain moisture and define curls.
Styling techniques can vary; try a diffuser when blow-drying to enhance curl definition, and avoid touching your curls too much to prevent frizz. Using a good leave-in conditioner can help with moisture and frizz control.
Using oils can be beneficial; lightweight oils like argan or jojoba can nourish your scalp and add shine without being overly greasy. It’s advisable to do a patch test to see how your hair reacts.
Lastly, there are plenty of budget-friendly options available at drugstores. Brands like SheaMoisture and Cantu offer affordable products for textured hair. Remember, everyone's hair journey is unique, and experimentation is key to finding the best routine for you!
before buying new products make sure you are using them all correctly, if you still have a lot of frizz use more, if they seem weighted down try less. If they still don't work then I suggest finding an influencer that has the same or similar hair to you and try our the stuff they use
