✨The Sheppard on the search ideas✨
Day 17- Jesus is the living water! 💧💙
Additional Tips: Get clear tape, and sprinkles. Coat the tape with your choice of sprinkles (we used holiday sprinkles) make sure to leave some room at the top of the tape, to tape to the back side of the faucet. Tape your shepherd's hand on the faucet handle. (Don't be like me and accidentally turn the faucet on! 😂)
Hey everyone! I wanted to share a little more about why this 'Jesus is Living Water' activity with our shepherd doll means so much to my family. It's more than just a fun craft; it's a daily reminder not to take everything for granted, especially the incredible gift of God's love and constant provision. You know, when we see those colorful sprinkles cascading from the faucet at our kitchen sink, it's such a vivid picture of what Jesus meant in John 7:38 – 'Whoever believes in me... rivers of living water will flow from within them.' It makes me think about how God's blessings truly are like sprinkles of goodness, continuously flowing into our lives. Sometimes, in our busy routines, it's so easy to overlook these constant provisions and the small miracles we encounter daily. But setting up little scenes like this helps us pause, reflect, and cultivate a heart of genuine gratitude. We often just rush through our days, but stopping to think about these foundational truths really shifts our perspective. This wasn't specifically a Palm Sunday activity, but reflecting on Jesus as the source of living water makes me think about His entire journey, leading up to His ultimate sacrifice and resurrection. It's a beautiful way to keep His presence alive in our homes throughout the Advent season, or really, any time of year! It teaches us to appreciate the depth of His promises and the unwavering nature of His love. It's a profound thought that the very water we drink daily can be a symbol of the spiritual nourishment He offers, an endless supply for our souls. For anyone looking to deepen their family's faith practice, I highly recommend finding creative ways to bring Bible stories and spiritual truths to life. Maybe you could create a similar 'living water' scene with blue fabric or glitter, or even just by talking about it while drinking water throughout the day. The key is to engage all the senses and make these moments memorable and conversation-starters. We even talked about how Jesus offers us spiritual water that never runs out, unlike a regular faucet that can be accidentally turned on – trust me on that one! 😂 It's such a profound concept, made simple and tangible with a shepherd doll and some sparkly sprinkles. This small daily act truly helps us celebrate the reason for the season and feel God's presence in our everyday lives. It reinforces the idea that faith isn't just for Sundays; it's for every moment, every 'sprinkle' of joy, every challenge overcome. It’s a wonderful way to teach children, and remind ourselves, that Jesus is always there, providing for us, and that His love flows endlessly. What simple, everyday symbols do you use to remind your family of God's goodness? I'd love to hear your ideas for keeping faith vibrant and accessible!
