... Read moreMac n Cheese is often regarded as a quintessential comfort food, especially during the cozy fall months. The aromatic blend of roasted garlic, creamy sauces, and a delightful crunch from the Panko breadcrumb topping makes it irresistible. To elevate your dish, consider adding extras like sautéed vegetables or different types of cheese, such as sharp cheddar for a kick of flavor. For perfect results, follow the essential steps: start by preheating your oven to 350°F and roasting garlic in olive oil. While the garlic is roasting, boil your pasta until al dente. In a separate pan, whisk flour into butter, then gradually add heavy cream and season with thyme for a deliciously rich sauce. Finish by combining the sauce with the pasta and topping with the breadcrumb mixture before baking. Experimenting with variations can lead to new favorites; try incorporating grilled chicken or even spicy sausage for a heartier meal. Enjoy this dish as a stand-alone entrée or serve it as a side for grilled meats. The best part? You can easily meal prep and freeze portions for quick dinners on busy nights!
