HOW I’M PLANNING ON DROPPING 5LBS/FAT FOR MY TRIP
I’ve ended my bulk which means I have some fat to drop and just in time for a big trip I have coming up and I want to feel a little more lean for it! I want to share how I plan on doing that and just changing a few things to show you that you don’t have to go to any extremes if you’re wanting to lose fat:)
I’ve added in Cardio, specifically HIIT intervals. I’m doing cardio AFTER my lifts for 10-20 minutes 2 of those being HIIT intervals doing either sprints or stairmaster.
Secondly, eating more Whole Foods and reducing my calories only slightly. I’m tracking my progress throughout the week to make sure im cutting at a reasonable rate. If I start to plateau I’ll bring my calories down just slightly but no more than 50 calories at a time.
Along with continuing the healthy habits I’ve worked to build on which is
-Prioritizing rest (7hrs sleep minimum)
-Drinking lots of water
-Avoiding excess sugary foods unless I’m really craving them and in reasonable amounts
Reaching your goals shouldn’t lead to anything extreme and I’ve learned that from over the years of extreme dieting and restriction. It just leads to more problems 🫶🏼

Hey everyone! I know how exciting it is to prepare for a big trip or even just get ready to feel amazing for summer. My journey to drop a few pounds for my upcoming vacation has taught me so much about sustainable fat loss, and I wanted to share even more tips beyond my initial plan to help you on your way, whether it's for 5 lbs or even 10 lbs over time! When it comes to nutrition, 'eating more whole foods' is a fantastic start, but let's dive a bit deeper. I've found it incredibly helpful to focus on high-protein meals that keep me feeling full and satisfied, like lean chicken or fish with plenty of veggies. Think about incorporating healthy fats from avocados or nuts, which are crucial for hormone balance and satiety. Instead of drastic cuts, try simple swaps: opt for grilled over fried, or choose a piece of fruit instead of a sugary dessert. Portion control, especially with carbs, can make a huge difference without feeling restrictive. I also love doing a little meal prep on Sundays; it saves so much time and helps me stick to my healthy eating goals during busy weekdays. For movement, beyond my HIIT intervals after my lifts, I've also found adding in some Low-Intensity Steady State (LISS) cardio on my rest days, like a brisk walk or a leisurely bike ride, can be a game-changer. It helps burn extra calories without over-stressing my body and aids in recovery. Plus, don't underestimate the power of consistent strength training – it builds muscle, which boosts your metabolism and helps you achieve that 'lean' look we're often aiming for. Remember the woman flexing her biceps in the locker room? That strength helps shape your body! And it's not just about what you eat and how you move. Prioritizing rest, as I mentioned, is non-negotiable. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep; it truly impacts your energy levels, cravings, and even how your body stores fat. Hydration is another unsung hero – drinking plenty of water throughout the day can curb false hunger cues and boost your metabolism. I always keep a water bottle handy! Finally, remember that true progress isn't just about the number on the scale. Take progress photos, note how your clothes fit, and pay attention to your energy levels and mood. This is about building sustainable habits that make you feel strong, healthy, and confident, not just for a trip or summer, but for life. Avoid the trap of extreme diets; they often lead to burnout and don't foster lasting change. Let's focus on feeling amazing from the inside out!
