Don’t make these HUGE fitness mistakes!

I learned the hard way so I want you to learn from me! I’m sharing the top 4 mistakes I made in my fitness journey that led to burnout, binging, overtraining, plateaus and more 👇

Don’t do these 4 things!

#1 : Doing 8-12 exercises per workout.

INSTEAD: focus on doing 3-5 effective good exercises and progressive overload. Prioritize compound movements like squats, deadlifts, lunges etc. More is not better.

#2 : Eating super clean but only around 1200 calories! INSTEAD: Prioritize eating protein with every meal and supplementing extra protein in between meals.

This alone will lead to speeding up your metabolism and help you burn fat.

Figure out how much food you need from a fitness professional or nutritionist because 1200 calories is meant for a CHILD, not someone working out wanting to build muscle and burn fat.

#3 : Switching up your workouts constantly.

INSTEAD stick to the same exercise program (given it’s a good one built for you) for at least 4 weeks and focus on progressive overload on those movements which means more weight, reps etc over time.

#4 : Prioritizing cardio for fat loss/muscle growth. INSTEAD prioritize strength training as it’s proven to be the most effective form of losing fat and building muscle at the same time to give you that “toned” look.

I hope these tips helped to keep you on the right track.

It’s all about learning what works for you and your body:)

... Read moreI totally get the frustration of feeling like you're spinning your wheels in the gym, lifting the same weight week after week. It's like you're putting in all the effort but those results for fat loss and muscle growth just aren't showing up! Beyond the core mistakes I shared, I've realized a few other things that were secretly holding me back from seeing results and truly breaking through those strength plateaus. First off, sleep and recovery are non-negotiable. Seriously, I used to think more gym time equaled more gains, but it's actually in your rest that your muscles repair and grow stronger. If you're constantly fatigued, your body simply can't perform its best or adapt to the stress of training. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep every night. I noticed a huge difference in my energy and strength when I started prioritizing my Zs. It felt counterintuitive to "do less" by sleeping more, but it's one of the most effective fitness strategies I've adopted! Another game-changer for me was meticulously tracking my workouts. You might think you remember what you lifted last week, but our memory can be a bit fuzzy. I started using a simple notebook (or a fitness app) to log every set, rep, and weight. This made progressive overload so much clearer! Instead of just trying to lift more, I had a specific target. Seeing those numbers go up, even slightly, was incredibly motivating and proved that sticking to a program was paying off. It helps you see where you might be making common fitness mistakes like not challenging yourself enough. And let's talk a bit more about nutrition beyond just protein. While eating enough protein is crucial (and I can't stress that enough!), don't forget about your carbs and healthy fats. Carbs are your body's primary fuel source for intense workouts. If you're cutting them too low, you'll feel sluggish and won't have the energy to push for heavier weights. I learned that fueling my body properly before a workout with complex carbs and after with protein and carbs dramatically improved my performance and recovery. It’s all part of ensuring you’re not undereating overall, which is one of those big fitness mistakes. Finally, focusing on proper form and mind-muscle connection truly transformed my lifts. Early on, I was often just moving the weight from point A to point B. But once I started slowing down, really feeling the muscle work, and ensuring my form was spot-on, my strength skyrocketed – even with lighter weights initially. This isn't just about preventing injury; it's about making every single rep count and effectively stimulating muscle growth. Sometimes, being stuck isn't about the weight itself, but how efficiently you're lifting it. Prioritizing strength training means prioritizing quality movement. By addressing these extra points, alongside the initial four mistakes, I finally started to see consistent improvement, not just in fat loss and muscle growth, but in my overall strength and confidence in the gym. It's a journey, and learning from these experiences is key to getting unstuck!
