Abandoned Mansion tied to Osama bin Laden

HISTORY:

Khalil bin Laden, 9-11 instigator Osama bin Laden’s half-brother, purchased this house in the 1980s for family vacations. The property was located less than one hour from Disney World.

Nine days following the 9-11 attack, Khalil arranged for he and his family to safely be transported to Saudi Arabia, to escape anyone who would retaliate against them. They left with only their personal belongings, and all of their furniture and familiarity remained.

The property was bought by multiple entrepreneurs after years lying vacant, but none were successful at this location.

This $5.9 million mansion, along with all of its furnishings, was unfortunately demolished in the last couple years and nothing remains.

There are city plans to potentially build assisted and independent facilities on this land, as well as a handful of lakeside homes. #abandoned #abandonedplaces
